CAL FIRE SLO has fully contained vegetation fire near Highway 46 in Paso Robles

CAL FIRE SLO officials have fully contained the vegetation fire burning in Paso Robles Sunday afternoon near Sherry Pl and Brand Rd., which grew to one and a half acres.

CAL FIRE SLO spokesman Adan Orozco said the fire was caused by a man mowing his lawn. It is uncertain how exactly the lawn mower caught on fire, and fire officials are encouraging people to mow before 10 a.m.

The fire burned up to the roadway near Highway 46.

The Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services was also responded to the fire.

CAL FIRE SLO is on scene of a vegetation fire in Paso Robles.

Fire officials say the fire is burning about two acres of grass near Sherry Pl and Branch Rd close to Highway 46.

CAL FIRE SLO said the fire has a potential to burn up to 5 acres.

Initial reports on the CHP Incident Information page suggest the fire was sparked from a man operating a tractor in the area, however the cause is still under investigation.
